Story

I’m so excited to announce that D. Louise is hosting an event called Walk & Talk.

Having lost my mum in 2017 & my brother in 2021 I feel like not enough time or focus goes into helping the people who have lost a family member or someone close to them. People need support in different ways, however for me, walking is a time to reflect and a type of therapy.

I will be walking from Cardiff to London. I will be starting at the hospice my mum was in, and walk a marathon a day all the way to the D. Louise office in London. We will be raising money, and all of the money raised will be going to the Penarth Hospice.

I want to invite everyone, however particularly people who have had a loss close to them to come to join me at any stage of the walk for as long as you would like. It will be a time to positively reflect, spread good vibes and make new friends.

The walk will be starting on 3rd March and finish on 10th March, which is also Mother’s Day as a tribute to my Mum.

I would LOVE to see as many of you there as possible, and support the message to raise more awareness for people who have had a loss close to them.

My fund raising target is set at £8,731. The reason for this is that the average cost of providing 24 hours of care at a Marie Curie Hospice and if you raise this amount they nominate a day to honour the memory of the person you lost.
