Ditching the Dragons (and other mobile games) for a Tent!
Fundraising for ShelterBox
Fundraising for ShelterBox
My name is Rachael and over the past few years, I have noticed that more and more of my time gets spent playing games on my mobile phone - mostly a particularly tempting one with dragons in! Which is fun but perhaps not as productive as it could be! So to raise money for Shelterbox, I'm asking people to sponsor me to give up mobile games for the 40 days of Lent! Maybe I'll get more things done! (those books won't read themselves.) Maybe I'll just end up using that time staring faintly resentfully at the phone and regretting everything. But whatever happens, I'm hoping to raise a good chunk of money for a wonderful cause. Let's make a Tent for Lent together - and maybe some other things too!
As someone who really values home, family and security, Shelterbox is a charity that I really care about. They help people all over the world in war zones or natural disasters, giving them spaces to call their own and equipment that can help not only one family, but entire communities. I'm lucky that I have a warm, safe space to sit and play games - far too many people do not. For more details of ShelterBox's work - visit shelterbox.org.
£35 could provide a family with a shelter tool kit which contains tools to maintain their homes or shelters.
£60 could provide a family with a water filter giving them access to clean drinking water.
£405 could provide a family with a tent, a space for a family to call home.
Thank you so much for anything you are able to give in sponsorship. Wish me luck!
