Story
For those of you who don’t know, in October my dad was unfortunately admitted to Hospital where he stayed for 10 days. After months of testing and probing, we finally managed to identify the condition that was causing all of my dad’s problems. Myasthenia Gravis is an extremely rare condition and only around 15 in every 100,000 people get diagnosed. The research going on and the support that @myawareuk has provided to our family, especially my mum and dad has been amazing. Webinars providing information about what to expect and zoom calls to provide help on how they are feeling are just some of the amazing work that they do. My dad is on extremely toxic medication, however a potential surgery could help reduce the number of tablets taken for a slightly newer version of normal life. There is so much to be discovered still and I hope that my very small contribution can pave the way to help so many other families like ours and provide hope and sanity for the people with the condition! With that all being said, on Saturday 22nd June, I and hopefully a number of other legends will be walking from my dad’s house to London Waterloo Station. If you would like to join, please feel free! If you would like to join for a short stint or for a drink along the way, I’m sure we would love that just as much!
If there is a spare pound hanging around in your bank account, we would love to see the money to towards @myawareuk to help them continue their journey and education of others! #myaware #myawareuk #myastheniagravis
