Story
We are pleased to say that our new enquiry service launched successfully at the beginning of July and we are now sending an average of 3 enquiries to local meetings every day. We are therefore now in a position to begin our fundraising campaign.
Discovering Quakers was originally funded by Britain Yearly Meeting, which enabled us to get our outreach services off the ground, growing a community of 4,000 enquirers and launching our new local meeting enquiry service. We are extremely grateful to BYM for their support, and we continue to work in collaboration with them. Our funding from BYM has now run out and we are appealing to local meetings for support.
Details of our Fundraising Appeal
Your meeting can donate as much or as little as you like. There is no pressure to donate, and we are very grateful for anything that we receive.
Our base operating costs are £32,000 per year which covers paying for the people doing the work that is not carried out by volunteers, social media advertising, social media content creation, sending email newsletters, maintaining an up-to-date website and paying for the technology to do all of these things.
We appreciate that Meetings' financial situations vary a great deal and ask that your Meeting makes a donation appropriate to its circumstances, perhaps in the range of £10 - £50 per month, or annually if that is easier to administer. To help Discovering Quakers achieve a sustainable financial position for the coming years, we would also ask you to donate an amount that you feel your Meeting could sustain for a number of years. We hope to extend our work and increase our social media advertising to reach more people and send more enquiries to meetings. Also, by donating your Meeting is helping other Meetings.
