In aid of Duchenne UK, Changing Charlie's Future is hosting an 80s/90s/00s Disco and Quiz Fundraising Event at The Chester Hotel on Friday 28th April 2023.

Charlie is our fun loving, smiley, happy little boy who was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) a genetic and life limiting disease at the start of 2021 aged just 3.

At present, there is no cure, but Duchenne UK is fighting hard to change this. By funding vital research into new treatments and investing in better care they aim to extend lives and improve the quality of those lives. The charity is making huge progress in the fight to find a cure for this heart-breaking disease and bring an end to DMD.

As a family, this diagnosis has been devastating but we have been able to find tremendous support from Duchenne UK both during the difficult times after Charlie’s diagnosis and, thanks to their tireless research, now as we hope for the chance of a brighter future for Charlie and for all those affected by DMD.

Some days, a deep sadness inevitably creeps in, but watching Charlie, sing, dance and vividly imagine his way through life is an utter joy and a reminder that life is to be lived in the present.

One thing our family knows is how to throw a party so what better way to raise funds for Duchenne UK than a fantastic night of fun, frivolity and all things retro.

The support so far has been simply amazing and we expect tickets to sell out soon.
