Bishop Andrew's Lent Appeal in aid of Refuweegee
Fundraising for Refuweegee
Fundraising for Refuweegee
My Lent appeal this year aims to support the outstanding work undertaken by Refuweegee, a Glasgow-based charity that offers a warm welcome and vital support to refugees and asylum seekers arriving in Scotland. Their work is grounded in kindness, dignity, and a deep commitment to ensuring that everyone arriving in Scotland feels not just safe but truly at home.
Refuweegee provides practical assistance through welcome packs, emergency support, and community connections, helping those who have fled hardship and crisis to rebuild their lives. Their mission is to ensure that every person seeking refuge in Scotland is met with compassion and solidarity—values that resonate deeply with our faith.
More details about their work can be found on Refuweegee’s website, and I encourage all members and friends of our churches in the Diocese of Glasgow and Galloway to support this appeal through this JustGiving page, where all contributions will go directly to Refuweegee.
Please share this appeal widely. Together, we can make a real difference in welcoming the people who need it most.
If you are donating from or on behalf of one of the church communities in the Diocese, please add the name and town of your church in the Comments section—even if you prefer to remain anonymous yourself. If possible, please allow Gift Aid to be claimed on your donation to increase its impact.
I commend the work of Refuweegee and encourage you to give generously to this cause.
