Story
Dear Friends and Supporters,
My name is Dinesh Pal. I am a 41-year-old professional at Mastercard, a devoted husband, and a proud father to a spirited 5-year-old son. Today, I am reaching out to you with a heart full of passion and determination to make a difference in the lives of those who need it most.
I have decided to embark on an extraordinary cycling expedition from Lhasa in Tibet to the Mount Everest Base Camp, concluding in Kathmandu, Nepal. This journey will take me over 1,000 kilometers across high altitude passes ranging from 4,500 to 5,200 meters. It is a test of endurance, willpower, and spirit—a journey to rediscover my true self while making a profound impact on the community that shaped me.
The Challenge
Cycling across the roof of the world is not just a physical challenge; it is a journey into the depths of my soul. Every pedal stroke at these extreme altitudes will push my limits, demanding resilience and determination. It is a quest to reconnect with the raw beauty of nature and the core of my being, to find strength in adversity and clarity in the silence of the mountains. This expedition is about embracing the challenge, conquering fears, and emerging stronger, both physically and spiritually.
The Cause
While this journey is a personal odyssey, it is also a mission to give back to my roots. I come from Dethala, a small rural village in Far Western Nepal. Despite my fortunate access to quality education and healthcare, Dethala still struggles with these basic amenities due to its remote location. Essential services such as healthcare, education, and sustainable farming are often overlooked and underfunded.
In partnership with HELP NEPAL Network, a dedicated grassroots charity organization, and Lions Club Of Katmandu, Cleopatra, I aim to raise funds to support Dethala Village. HELP NEPAL Network has been instrumental in providing better healthcare, education, and promoting local economic farming initiatives in remote communities. Together, we envision a future where every child in Dethala has access to quality education, where healthcare is within reach for every family, and where sustainable farming can help the community thrive economically.
Volunteering and Community Engagement
As part of this journey, I will also be volunteering with the local community in Dethala for a week. During this time, I will engage with villagers to learn about their challenges and educate them on sustainability and development. This hands-on experience will allow me to contribute directly to the community, fostering mutual learning and growth.
The Goal
Our goal is to raise £5,000 to:
Improve Healthcare: Establish better medical facilities and ensure regular healthcare camps in Dethala.
Enhance Education: Provide resources and infrastructure for quality education, including scholarships, school supplies, and teacher training programs.
Promote Sustainable Farming: Support local farmers with training and resources to implement sustainable agricultural practices that can improve their livelihoods.
Enhance Financial Inclusion: Provide access to digital finance and improve financial literacy, empowering villagers to manage their finances effectively and access wider economic opportunities.
How You Can Help
Your support can make a tangible difference in the lives of the people of Dethala. Here’s how you can contribute:

Join Us in Making a Difference
This expedition is more than just a personal challenge; it’s a call to action. It’s about coming together to uplift a community and provide them with the opportunities they deserve. Your generosity can light the way for many futures in Dethala.
Let’s pedal for a cause, climb for a community, and reach new heights together.
Thank you for your support and belief in this mission.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Dinesh Pal
