Story
My MS story began back in July 9, 2021, in Michigan, when I woke up one morning unable to get out of bed. I ended up going to the ER where they did a CT and noticed abnormal spots in my brain. This began my life of multiple neurologists, meds and MRIs. It wasn't until January 13, 2022 that I received the official diagnosis at the University of Michigan. Through them I was put on an infusion regimen of getting a 6 hour infusion of Ocrevus, twice a year.
With all this going on with my health, and other personal reasons, I decided to come home to Denver. There is the best care & community here. I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to make friends who understand what living with MS is like.
I'm grateful for the Rocky Mountain MS Center (RMMSC) and all they do. Through their resources I was able to get in touch with a disability lawyer, and finally was approved after three denials. They also offer things like hydrotherapy, which is amazing for low impact exercise & is a good time for me to socialize with & learn from fellow MS Warriors.
RMMSC is an incredible Colorado-based nonprofit organization that provides comprehensive wellness care, supports individuals and families living with MS, offers educational programs and resources, and conducts cutting-edge research. The funds raised through MS4MS will directly contribute to the vital programs and services offered by the MS Center, benefiting individuals in our community, like me, whose lives have been impacted by this challenging disease.
Thank you for taking the time to visit the Multiple Summits 4 MS 2024 (MS4MS) fundraising page, where we are dedicated to supporting the Rocky Mountain MS Center. The MS4MS Community Flat 14er event is a wonderful opportunity for us to come together and make a meaningful impact. On June 15, 2024, individuals and teams will be walking in Denver, while others will be embarking on their own personal challenges in support of this important cause. Whether it's hiking trails, walking laps in our neighborhoods, or conquering the peak of a 14er, we are all united in our mission to raise awareness and support those affected by multiple sclerosis.
Your support means everything to us. Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of those affected by multiple sclerosis. Join us in our journey to create a brighter future for all those touched by this condition.
