Dave's 2023 50km trail run challenge for Parkinson’s UK

Stour Valley Path 50km Ultra Run · 12 August 2023
It is a cruel and indiscriminate degenerative disease. It destroys lives, slowly.
Parkinson’s UK is funding groundbreaking research that will fund a cure. In the meantime, they are providing vital services to people living with Parkinson’s - and their Ioved ones - from support groups to funding research to improve medication and treatment.
That's about 145,000 people. Unfortunately, since 2006, my mother has been one of them.
This year, I’m pushing my physical limits again by running further than I’ve run before. I’ll be running 50km. In one go. On a trail. Oh, and don’t be like me and be fooled by the “valley” bit in the name - there’s 2,400 feet of climbing including a “bump” called Devil’s Dyke. Yep, I missed that hint!
The pandemic and inflation have had a devastating impact on Parkinson’s UK’s finances. I also know times are hard for many of us, but if you have a few quid you can spare, please consider donating.
