“Help Aldbrough Primary School Inspire the Next Generation of Athletes”
APSA is a school PTA ran by families in and around the village. As a rural, isolated and coastal school our children do not always have access to what others do. We are wanting to provide opportunities to extend ambition that'll impact their lives for the better.

Story

Hello,

I’m Devauna Mcfarlane, PE Lead at Aldbrough Primary School—a small but spirited village school located on the East Yorkshire coast. At Aldbrough, we believe that every child deserves the chance to thrive through sport, to build confidence, stay active, and develop the vital life skills that team play fosters. That’s why I’m reaching out for your support today.

Our current mission is to raise funds to upgrade our outdoor sports facilities by replacing our worn-out football goalposts and installing two high-quality basketball hoops on our playground. These additions will have a lasting impact on our pupils’ physical wellbeing and social development.

⚽ Football Goalposts:

Football is a firm favourite here, played enthusiastically during PE, break times, after-school clubs, and even community events. Unfortunately, our existing posts have suffered from years of coastal weather exposure and are no longer safe. We’ve sourced professional-grade, Premier League-approved goalposts from Net World Sports—built to last and designed to inspire. The cost (with a generous discount) is £2,291.65.

🏀 Basketball Hoops:

We are also excited to bring basketball into greater focus. We’ve chosen Mega Slam in-ground adjustable basketball systems, trusted in schools and clubs for their strength and safety. These hoops are weather-resistant and built for long-term use. The total cost for two systems is £4,665.00, including all components and a lifetime warranty.

As a small rural school, our budget is tight. We rely on the generosity of supporters like you to help bring these opportunities to life for our children. Your donation—no matter the size—will help create an environment where pupils can learn, grow, and play with the equipment they deserve.

We would be proud to acknowledge your support within our school community and keep you informed of the difference you’ve made.
