Story

This page is in memory of John Desmond Coffield, a one-in-a-million dad, who passed away on 7th November 2023.

Des was diagnosed with terminal cancer in August 2023. After the recent loss of wife Anne to cancer in December 2022, Des decided against treatment, opting to spend his as much of his remaining time as possible at home in the company of his daughter, family and friends.

Des will be fondly remembered for his quick wit, cheeky jokes and for all the music he brought into the world, which will be a much quieter place without him.

We're inviting donations to Strathcarron Hospice in Des's memory, in recognition of the support and comfort they provided to both Des and daughter Nicola in the last few months.
