Story
Please do help us in Derby raise the money to help bring a group of young Palestinians to visit the UK this autumn and specifically for part of their stay in Derby.
This is a really important issue right now in our world, and there is so much misunderstanding around Palestine and the current situation.
We bring together young people from across the West Bank to meet young people in the UK, and share their stories and experiences. They will be going into schools and communities to share what life is actually like living in the West Bank.
Derby twins with Hebron and we are excited that there will be young people from Hebron coming as well as from Jerusalem and other areas of the West Bank. The young people have been doing a project over the past year, called "Beyond the Checkpoints" all the more difficult in the last 7 months, learning about each other's lives across the West Bank. Poignantly, they are separated from each other's villages by numerous checkpoints, so this visit will be a revelation to us about life there, and a revelation to them about what 'normal' life really looks like, with freedom to travel, worship, educate etc.
The cost of visas, transport and insurance is what we are looking for. We are all volunteers, offering our homes and support freely.
Young people who have come on previous exchange visits have found the experience really life hanging. And so have their audience in the UK.
Please help us bring their stories and them to the UK this autumn. Whatever you can give will help 🙏
