Story
Two friends called Simon ... They met at Exeter University, shared a flat together and have enjoyed friendship and fun for over 20 years. Last summer my son Simon told me the devastating news that Si (on the left) had been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
'MND is life-shortening and there is no cure. Although the disease will progress, symptoms can be managed to help achieve the best quality of life.' The charity MNDA is funding life saving research into finding a cure for this cruel disease and provides vital, practical support and care for families facing MND.
When I heard that Si's brother and some of his friends, including Simon, were going to cycle the Ford Ride London Essex (100 miles) on 26th May for MNDA I decided it was time to get on my bike again for another challenge ...
I would be so grateful for your sponsorship for my latest 'bonkers biking' - cycling for Si and all those suffering from MND.
With many, many thanks in advance
Deirdre
