Story
On Saturday, September 9th, a fabulous team of people are joining in the Thames Bridges Trek to fundraise for Petals.... including me!
Petals, the baby loss counselling charity, supports many, many bereaved families who have suffered the devastating loss of a pregnancy or death of a baby.
As Chair of Trustees of this very special charity, I am so proud of what Petals has achieved so far - and our service is rapidly expanding due to hard work and determination. It is Petals' vision that all parents across the UK can access Petals specialist counselling support free of charge, when they need it.... and to realise this goal, we need your support! Each counselling session costs Petals £80, so events like the Thames Bridges Trek are really important for raising funds to be able to deliver as many sessions as possible.
From a personal point of view, the support I received from Petals following the devastating loss of four pregnancies was life changing. When we were faced with making the heartbreaking decision to terminate my final pregnancy for medical reasons, the loss I felt was unimaginable. Petals counselling was key in helping me put the pieces back together - Petals provided a safe space to process what had happened, come to terms with my new normal, and to find a positive way forward.
Please support me as I do the Thames Bridges Trek - it's 25 km, which is a VERY, VERY long way. All donations, big or small, will be marvellous - every quid we raise will help Petals achieve our vision. Thank you!!
We are Petals, the baby loss counselling charity. The specialist counselling service that we provide is life-changing for parents who have suffered the devastating loss of a pregnancy or death of a baby. We know that these tragic experiences not only result in grief but also in trauma. Our wonderful counsellors are there to help our clients navigate their grief and trauma and to guide them to a place of hope.
Supporting this challenge you will be helping us to deliver more vital counselling sessions to bereaved parents when they need us.
