Story
Over the last decade, over 100 UK Wholesale, Convenience, FMCG and Service Provider executives have cycled across Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, the UK and Bosnia-Herzegovina, and have raised over £1.3 million for MAG (Mines Advisory Group) – the Manchester based charity, awarded Co-Laureate of the 1997 Nobel Peace Prize for its role in the International Campaign to Ban Landmines.
Every day, 13 people are killed or injured by landmines and unexploded bombs. Almost half of casualties are children. MAG’s teams around the world remove and destroy these deadly items for good from communities affected by conflict. Every landmine and deadly weapon taken out of the ground is a life saved, an injury prevented, and a community given the chance to rebuild.
The Tanzania Cycle Challenge 2025 is the BIG 10th anniversary ride.
Between Thursday 3 - Friday 11 July 2025, a team of 40 senior leaders from the Wholesale and Convenience Retail sector will come together to take on the Tanzania Cycle Challenge 2025 to raise funds for MAG, making the world a safer place.
The team will ride from the foothills of Kilimanjaro to Ngorongoro Conservation Area, cycling through Tanzania’s lush green forests, dry bush lands, remote villages and bustling towns. We will take in the lakeside shores of Lake Manyara National Park and finish at the wildlife haven of The Ngorongoro Crater! Whilst beautiful the ride itself will be tough as we tackle rough dirt trails under the hot tropical sun. This team rides so that MAG can respond where the need is greatest to remove explosive threats, destroy dangerous weapons and provide risk education programmes so that people can live, work, travel and play as safely as possible until the land is cleared.
By sponsoring the team today, you are helping MAG to save lives and build futures around the world, and put an end to the tragic impacts of war from conflicts new and old.
Thank you
