Story
When I met my husband, he made it clear that I would always take third place in his life, behind his two other loves - Doctor Who and the Leeds Rhinos.
Over the years I’ve enjoyed (and endured) many rugby games with him and his family. Rugby League plays such a big part in my husband's life that it's formed a part of mine too. It's why the news of one his sporting heroes, Rob Burrow, dying to motor neurone disease has hit us all so hard.
One to never stand still, I've decided to take on the almighty challenge of running two marathons in two weeks, in Rob’s memory. To quote Rob himself, 'every single day is precious, don’t waste a moment. In a world full of adversity, we must still dare to dream💫 '
MND affects up to 5,000 adults in the UK at any one time. There is a 1 in 300 risk of getting MND across a lifetime. It can affect adults of any age, but is more likely to affect people over 50. There is currently no cure.
It’s why I hope you’ll donate to this very worthy cause, a charity focusing on supporting those affected by the disease, helping sufferers gain more independence and researching for a cure.
Please give anything you can.
£20 could help train an Association Visitor to support a person living with MND.
£50 could help fund MND Support Grants, giving a person with MND more independence.
£100 could allow the charity to step up their research, working towards a world free from MND.
Thank you.
