Story
I am getting ready to trek across the inhospitable land of fire and ice to help raise vital funds for the Lord Wandsworth Foundation.
Lord Wandsworth College's founder Sydney Stern, recognised a need to provide a vibrant, supportive boarding school environment for children who have lost the support of one or both parents through illness or bereavement.Today this amazing school keeps that vision alive!.
After an incredible fundraising trip to Morocco last year where we trekked over 50km across the sahara desert and raised over £50,000. ( My toe nails have only just grown back ). I have signed up for this next adventure to further help this amazing foundation.
As an Army veteran who has served all over the world, as a Combat Medic and Biomedical Scientist, including Afghanistan, Bosnia, Kosovo, Sierra Leone , Kenya, Ethiopia and China, I have first hand experience, of the devestating affects that the loss of a parent can have on a child, through the effects of war, humanitarian disaster and illness.
I have taken on this challenge to help support other children, and to give something back for the help my family and I received , of which I am forever grateful.
Any amount kindly donated to help me through this challenge goes directly to the foundation, all additional costs incurred are self funded.
