Story
On the 21 April 2024 I will be running the London Marathon in memory of my younger brother who sadly passed away in 1998 due to sudden cardiac failure. Fast forward to 2020 and I was also diagnosed with an underlying congenital heart condition which has since resulted in being fitted with an implantable defibrillator & pacemaker and medicated for life.
It has always been a bucket list dream to run the London Marathon and I feel honoured to have secured a place to run on behalf of Cardic Risk in The Young, a charity that sits very close to mine and my family’s hearts. Every week in the UK at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions and I am keen to raise as much awareness as possible.
This marathon will not be easy for me with restrictions I have around my condition and also remaining symptomatic, but I will never allow it to hold me back from living my life and achieving my goals.
All donations however big or small is going towards a fanatic charity that will help save young lives from fatal cardiac conditions.
