Story
Story:
When my amazing husband, Rob Berkley was diagnosed with gastric cancer in 2017, I felt paralyzed and unsure where to turn. By 2018, when there was nothing more the doctors could do, I remember how empowering it felt to be able to make the choice to turn to Hospice & Palliative Care of Martha’s Vineyard.
For six months, our hospice team stayed by our sides giving Rob the support he needed to complete his life with dignity, grace, and in peace, and offering me the medical, emotional and psychological support to be there for my husband.
What Does Hospice and Palliative Care of Martha’s Vineyard Do?
The organization provides quality end of life care and bereavement services at no cost to any family facing serious illness and death. Through counseling, pain management, education, family support, and first-rate medical care from a dedicated team of professionals and volunteers, Hospice & Palliative Care of Martha’s Vineyard gave us the quality time we needed to say goodbye, allowing Rob to take his last breath exactly as he wished – at home, in his own bed, free of pain and surrounded in love and support.
Fundraising Goal:
During this season of giving and reflection, we kindly ask you to consider donating to Hospice and Palliative Care of Martha’s Vineyard (HPCMV) for the 2023 Annual Appeal. My goal is to raise $5,000 for this incredible organization.
Your support can make a significant impact on the lives of those who need it most. Together, let's ensure that HPCMV continues to provide exceptional care and comfort, not just during the holidays, but all year round. Your generosity can truly make a difference in the lives of patients and their families. Thank you for your compassion and support.
By sustaining and supporting HPCMV, you are helping to ensure that it remains a beacon of light during life's most challenging moments. You are cultivating a Legacy of Compassion that stands as a testament to the depth of our humanity. This legacy is a promise that we make to ensure that every individual and family facing life's final journey will do so enveloped in love and care.
