Camino De Santiago- Three Day trek · 30 April 2025 · Start fundraising for this event

We have 12 fantastic supporters trekking the final 67km of the famous Camino Frances from 30th April – 4th May.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page, I am raising money for the Hospice in the Weald by taking on part of the Camino de Santiago!

This year I will have worked for the Hospice for 10 years having joined them initially as a volunteer. I thought it would be good to give something back whilst also challenging my 60+ body.

The Challenge

Trekking the final 67km of the famous Camino Frances – the French Way! Starting in Palas de Rei, we begin our three-day trekking adventure along this popular pilgrimage route. We will trek through rolling green landscapes, traditional villages and picturesque woodlands on our way to Santiago, discovering local traditions and meeting fellow pilgrims along the way. Today the Camino is more than a pilgrimage, it is a remarkable journey and a unique experience. Our final destination is the magical Santiago Old Town, a wonderful UNESCO World Heritage site, home to the stunning Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela!

The Charity

Hospice in the Weald is a local charity in Kent that cares and supports patients and families with palliative and end of life care, free of charge, all day everyday.

I feel privileged to work with the Hospice Outreach Team. Every day I speak to people who are living with a terminal or life limiting illness as well as to their families and/or carers.

The charity is not funded by the NHS therefore it relies on the support from donations, fundraising and charity shops to fund its amazing work.
