Story
Most people that know me, know that I live with Crohn’s disease. I spent most of my 20’s in extreme pain, battling for a diagnosis and to get my condition under control.
Thanks to surgery and medication I have spent the last ten years in remission, where I’ve been making up for the time lost to this horrible illness!
Running a marathon is really hard work! The gruelling training plan, getting up at the crack of dawn to get the runs in before the school run and work. And that’s all before the actual 26.2 miles of the marathon itself! So why do I do it to myself? Well for me, nothing beats that feeling of realising how bloody strong and amazing my body is, despite everything it’s been through! So many people in the UK are living with this, some not as lucky as me to be living a pain free full life. I will continue to raise awareness and fundraise towards a cure for as long as I can, for everyone living with this that isn’t able to.
That’s why I am taking on this challenge of running the Berlin marathon this September and I’m hoping I can raise as much money as possible along the way. With only a few months until the challenge, I would really appreciate your support to help me hit my target 💜
