Story
On 17th May 2025, five team members of Mid Dorset Primary Care Network will lace up their walking boots and embark on a hiking adventure along the Jurassic Coast. We are taking on the hardest half challenge of the Ultra Challenges series, the Jurassic Coast Ultra Challenge, covering some of the most stunning and rugged terrain in the UK. Our goal is not just to conquer the miles, but to raise vital funds for Mosaic, a charity that provides invaluable support to bereaved children and their families.
Why Mosaic?
Mosaic is a local Dorset charity dedicated to helping children and young people cope with the death of a loved one. Their work is crucial in offering a lifeline to those navigating the complex emotions of grief. With tailored support sessions, group activities, and therapeutic services, Mosaic ensures that no child has to face bereavement alone. Their compassionate approach makes a profound difference in the lives of countless families, and we want to help them continue this essential work.
Our Challenge
The Jurassic Coast Ultra Challenge is no small feat. Our team will traverse 58 kilometres, beginning at Corfe Castle before travelling through Swanage, Lulworth Cove, and Durdle Door, then continuing onward to the finish line at Weymouth. This demanding route will test our endurance and determination, tackling steep climbs totalling nearly 1,700 metres, of breath-taking coastline, rocky paths and unpredictable weather but every step we take is fuelled by the knowledge that we are supporting a cause close to our hearts.
How You Can Help
We need your support to reach our fundraising goal. Every donation, no matter the size, will directly benefit Mosaic and the children they support. Here’s how your contribution can make a difference:
£10 could provide a bereaved child with art materials for therapeutic activities.
£25 could fund a one-to-one counselling session for a young person struggling with grief.
£50 could cover the cost of a support group session, helping children to connect with others who understand their loss.
£100 could contribute to a residential weekend, offering a safe space for children to explore their feelings and build resilience.
Please consider supporting Mosaic by donating to our JustGiving page. Your generosity will not only help us reach our target but also ensure that Mosaic can continue to offer their life-changing services. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of bereaved children, providing them with the support they need to heal and thrive.
Thank you for your kindness and support.
