Story
I’ve decided to raise money for charities which have supported Claire and our family during her fight with cancer, and since her passing
I’m setting out over 4 quarters to raise money for 4 different charities and run over 400 miles over the year.
Each quarter I will focus on a specific charity along the way.
Widowed & Young

I discovered WAY by chance prior to my wife’s death.
WAY is a peer to peer support community for individuals who unfortunately have become widowed before their 51st birthday. The members organise many different events, from Facebook Groups, online gatherings, in person meet ups (walks, dinners, breaks etc.) that members can participate in.
Since becoming a member, Myself and Bailey have had the opportunity to join in with a number of events and meet ups, with individuals in a similar situation to ourselves. I’ve been able to seek advice, support, and made some new friends along the way.
WAY is the only national charity in the UK for people aged 50 or under when their partner died. It’s a peer-to-peer support group operating with a network of volunteers who have been bereaved at a young age themselves, so they understand exactly what other members are going through.
The running will be undertaken as a mixture of planned events and individual mileage, all will be tracked through Strava along the way.
