A bit about ChallengeAid:
ChallengeAid builds and maintains "Schools of Hope" for aspirational young slum dwellers in East Africa who often cannot attend school during the day due to family or work demands and so offer a complementary & alternative form of schooling. A School of Hope provides access to a supervised, safe and conducive learning environment, which provides up-to-date textbooks, caring supervision, desks, chairs, lighting, peer support and careers advice. In addition, pupils can engage in many extra-curricular activities, which includes music, drama, sports, and life-skills sessions.
ChallengeAid has to date built 50 Schools of Hope educating a total of 5000 students. 97.8% of primary school students transitioned into secondary school, and at secondary school level the School of Hope exam results worked out at over 100% better higher than those neighbouring equivalent government school. The schools are accessible to any students who wants to attend to learn and due to increasing demand ChallengeAid is looking to raise funds to continue to provide education to these learners. The average cost of educating a pupil is on average £9.50 for the whole year. Please help by donating what you can to keep these aspirational young students in education which, in turn provides them with an opportunity to succeed and escape a life of poverty.
