Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am raising money for the EyUp! charity as it brings health and happiness to Yorkshire folk. EyUp! helps our amazing NHS staff to give even more, adding flourishes to mental health, community and learning disability services. It pays for the sort of stuff the NHS can't always afford - the bobby dazzler ideas that make a proper difference to people in our services and communities. EyUp! doesn't fund NHS services, it goes the extra mile for happiness - funding things like play areas, comfy chairs, recovery programs, activity groups and provides funding for local community groups.

This circular Everest Base Camp trek explores the heart of the Sherpa homeland, from Namche Bazaar to the Gokyo Valley, crossing the glaciated Cho La pass and onto the classic route to Everest Base Camp Our goal is Everest Base Camp on the Khumbu Glacier with the chance to climb Kala Pattar (18,190ft/5,545m) for fabulous close-up views of Mount Everest.

This circuit is tougher than the classic Everest Base Camp trek as it involves a long, demanding crossing of the Cho La pass (17,780ft/5,420m). This entails a very steep ascent and descent on rocky trails, which can be icy; there is always ice and snow at the top as we cross a glacier. There are chains on the steep ascent up the Cho La. This trek is graded as Challenging/Tough with 15 days of walking, mostly at relatively high altitude.

I know times are hard at the moment, anything you can spare will really make a difference. Thank you so much xx
