Story
Paul and I are trekking across the Alps for Tenovus Cancer Care on August 20, 2024, with a target amount of £5,000.
As a Pancreatic Cancer Survivor, of almost 10 years I know first-hand the incredible impact of their work.
Our trek will entail a spectacular journey from Germany to Austria and climb over 30,000ft or 9100m - that's the equivalent of Everest !
Almost 10 years ago, working as a nurse with a young family, I was given a devastating diagnosis - I had pancreatic cancer. I knew the statistics were poor for me surviving the year.
With an incredible story of survival and positivity, 4 operations resulting in no pancreas, duodenum, gallbladder or spleen; I'm an unstable diabetic and rely on daily lifesaving medications, I was lucky to survive and thrive but now I'm on a mission to help others too.
Tenovus Cancer Care want a future that gives anyone affected by cancer the best access to the treatment and support they need.
They've helped thousands of cancer patients cope after a diagnosis and given them hope for the future. But they need our support today so that they can be there tomorrow. https://www.tenovuscancercare.org.uk/
9100m is a hard climb for me and we'd be thrilled if we had £1 for every metre.
Research suggests that 1 in 2 people born in the UK after 1960 will receive a cancer diagnosis.....and only 1% of pancreatic cancer patients live 10 years or more after diagnosis.........so please try to support us ..... it could ultimately help you or a family member now or in the future.
Your donation will mean that Tenovus can continue to support cancer patients and their loved ones, promote healthy lifestyles, and fund cancer research to find new ways to prevent it, diagnose it, and treat it.
Thank you so much, we and the people we can help from your donations, truly appreciate it.
