When you know you have to say goodbye to someone you love, you want the very best care you could possibly think of.

That was what Lindsey Lodge gave my dad and our family.

Dad wasn't in the hospice for long, but the support, thought, love and attention from everyone that worked at Lindsey Lodge to make my dad and our family feel comfortable and supported was nothing short of phenomenal.

After a difficult few years with illness and battling on so many different fronts, we suddenly felt safe, respected, supported and like we'd suddenly become part of a bigger family, at our toughest time.

On the 13th September we said our last goodbye to my dad, Ellis' grandad for the last time. He passed away surrounded by family who loved him greatly, supported to the very end in such a beautiful way, by the team at Lindsey Lodge.

We are eternally grateful for what they did for my dad.

To thank Lindsey Lodge, Ellis and I are fundraising by taking part in the 'Super Santa' at Normanby Hall on the 17th December. A 10K run in the morning, 3K family run in the afternoon followed by a night time 10K, all in one day.

The care provided at Lindsey Lodge is free of charge to patients and their families but not free to provide. As a charity they rely heavily on the generosity of people like you to raise just over £3.7 million each year to run the Hospice.
