Story
I'm thrilled to share that I’m taking on the exhilarating challenge of a skydive from 15,000 feet to support Epilepsy Action! This daring leap is not just a personal adventure but a meaningful effort to raise awareness and funds for those affected by epilepsy. By soaring through the sky, I hope to draw attention to this important cause and contribute to the vital work Epilepsy Action does to improve lives. Your support and encouragement would mean the world to me as I take this giant leap for a great cause!
I'm skydiving for Epilepsy Action because this cause is incredibly close to my heart. Working with children with special educational needs, I see firsthand the challenges faced by those with epilepsy, including some of the students I support. Additionally, a close friend of mine battle’s epilepsy daily, and their courage inspires me to make a difference. This skydive from 15,000 feet is more than just an adrenaline rush—it's a powerful way to raise awareness and funds for Epilepsy Action, helping them continue their vital work in supporting individuals and families affected by epilepsy.
The funds raised from this skydive will have a profound impact on Epilepsy Action and the vital services they provide. With around 630,000 people living with epilepsy in the UK and 79 new diagnoses made every day, there is a significant need for support and resources. Tragically, around 1,000 people die from epilepsy-related causes each year, highlighting the urgency of the charity’s work.
By making a donation, here’s how you can make a difference and help the charity continue providing their services:
• £22 can answer an enquiry to the Epilepsy Action Helpline, providing someone with crucial support at a critical moment.
• With £30, the charity can recruit, train, and equip a Talk and Support Group leader, creating a safe space for people with epilepsy to share their experiences and receive essential support.
• £60 can train 25 individuals, empowering them with the knowledge to better support their loved ones affected by epilepsy.
• A contribution of £108 can recruit and train a specialist Befriending volunteer, offering one-to-one support to those feeling isolated.
• And an impressive £768 can fund the Epilepsy Action Helpline for an entire day, ensuring continuous assistance for those in need.
Your support through this skydive will directly contribute to these impactful services, helping to make a tangible difference in the lives of many individuals and families affected by epilepsy.
