Story
Why are we doing this and what are we doing?
In April 2024 we are travelling to Boston for David to run the Boston Marathon, 5 days later we will both be running the London Marathon!"
David will be tackling Boston Marathon on Monday before we return to London, with some jet lag, both of us running the London Marathon the following Sunday.
We'd love for you to support us by sharing this page or even making a donation to this Charity that does such important work for children in the UK!
NSPCC’s services help children who’ve been abused, protect children at risk and find the best ways to prevent child abuse from ever happening.
NSPCC has been providing vital services for 35 years through Childline, a vital service that provides support for children in whatever dangers they may face. This service provides counselling for children experiencing bullying, mental health, troubles at home and for many other reasons when they feel they have nowhere else to turn.
NSPCC is 135 years old but financial support is as important now as its ever been.
- Half a million children suffer abuse in the UK every year
- On average, two children a minute contact Childline for support.
- 7 children in a classroom experience abuse before they turn 18
- Child cruelty offences in England have increased by 106% increase in 5 years.
Children don’t always know who to trust with their worries. Without a safe place to turn, they can put their trust in the wrong person or keep their fears to themselves. Home isn’t a safe place for every child, and the pandemic made even more children feel trapped, lonely, and unsure who to trust.
We would really appreciate your donation however big or small, your donation towards this incredible charity will help support children and young people in the UK.
We have both been racking up the miles (mostly) in the rain and (mostly) in the dark in the Great British Winter months, keeping the work of this charity in mind gives us both the motivation we need in those tough moments.
