Story
Scottish rugby player, Doddie Weir, died recently through the effects of Motor Neurone Disease; he had lived with the disease longer than most, and during that time he massively raised the awareness of MND and stimulated others to raise millions. There is currently no cure for this disease which seems to affect those that have played impact sports more severely. At Macclesfield Rugby Club we lost one of the Club's legends recently, as such fundraising for MND is close to our hearts.
My challenge comes from my other life-long sport of climbing and mountaineering. It is the most formidable mountaineering challenge in the UK and is more akin to a big alpine ascent. Whilst I'm comfortable with the technical climbing, I know that it will test me to my physical limits. Training is full-on to lose a bit of weight and regain some of the strength and stamina of my youth. Those that like to see me in pain (it's a rugby thing) can rest assured that I will suffer - so please give generously.
