Fundraising for SSAFA
Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page.
My name is David, I have a youtube channel called "From Kent To Sussex" which focuses on camping, activities in my cabin and mainly outdoor stuff. For a while now I have been saddened by stories of ex armed forces personel being either homeless, and/or sleeping rough. No one who has served their country deserves to be in that situation and I am hoping that by committing to sleeping outside of my house for a full calender month may help in some way. I will be sleeping either in a small tent, or under a tarp using an ex MOD bivvy bag. I have set myself a limit of sleeping in my off grid cabin only 4 times during the period stated.
I am a 61 year old ex Royal Navy Petty Officer and I served for 11 years on various ships and shore bases.
The reason I chose to support the SSAFA is because HRH, Queen Elizabeth II was the patron from 1952 until her death in 2022. In the armed forces she was informally referred to as "The Boss" so it seems only right to me that I help a charity she held so dear.
Since 1885, thanks to the public's support, SSAFA continues to provide welfare and wellbeing assistance tailored to our Armed Forces community. They know and understand the unique demands of service life, whether in the UK or overseas, and in times of need, they help to enable the Forces family to thrive.
Many thanks!
