Our beautiful goddaughter is Anayah-Israel and she is a very special little lady ❤️. Come to mention it her Mum Sarah, Dad Deji and Bro Judah are all very special too!

When she was born, Anayah’s heart stopped due to labour complications and the Doctors had to resuscitate her for 11 minutes to bring her back and help her to breathe. Not having oxygen at birth meant that Anayah suffered a severe brain injury- HIE (Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy). This means that Anayah has Cerebral Palsy, epilepsy, CVI (Cortical Visual Impairment) and some hearing loss.

Anayah was in NICU (Neo-natal intensive care) for 34 days at the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham. The Doctors told her Mum and Dad that she wouldn't live to see 4 days old, but she is such a WARRIOR and is nearly 3 in May!!

Over the past years, Anayah has spent 27 weeks in hospital with chest and lung infections, pneumonia, epilepsy and difficulties with her airway. Mum Sarah has had to give her CPR 3 times and Anayah has had CPR a total of 8 times in her life.

Mum & Dad say Anayah has expensive taste because the therapies like Physio, Speech and Language, Conductive Education, laser therapy, HBOT (Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber therapy), PBM (Photo Bio Modulation therapy) and neuro-plasticity ABM movement therapy cost so much money. Sadly, the NHS have minimal therapeutic hands-on involvement which she really, REALLY needs. So, Just4Children are fundraising for on going treatment which so far has helped to pay for an intensive NAPA (Neurological and Physical Rehab) programme in September 2022 (which helped Anayah with her sitting, core strength and swallow).

The plan is now a huge Stem Cell therapy trip to America in June 2023 which will also include a 3 week therapy intensive with NAPA straight after treatment and continued physio, Speech and language, ABM, PBM and HBOT.

Anayah’s new goals are to strengthen her core to aid sitting, intentional choices and independence and one of the most important goals is to develop her swallow and eating to protect her lungs and improve breathing!

Anayah-Israel Francis Ayodele Kolawole

Anayah = Hebrew for God has answered

Israel =Hebrew for the one who fought with God (God has answered the One who fought with him).

Frances = Free one

Ayodele = Joy has come home (Ayo just like her Dad and big sister Ariella who passed Feb 2019).
