Comrades Marathon, The Ultimate Human Race · 9 June 2024

We stand for everyone affected by dementia to find a cure

Story

Fourteen years after we last ran the Comrades Marathon, The Ultimate Human Race in South Africa, we are taking on the challenge again! On the 9th June 2024 we will endeavour to run the 86km/53 miles ultramarathon from Durban to Pietermaritzburg. Wish us luck!

This time we want to raise money for two deserving charities - Chai Cancer Care, and Alzheimer's Research UK. And anything you can afford to donate will be greatly appreciated.

We are not the only family who have had to watch a loved one struggle with dementia, it is sadly way too common. Every 3 minutes dementia steals a happily ever after. It stole my dear, gentle Dad in 2022. We would not wish the same heartbreak and trauma on anyone.

Anything you can donate to help find a cure for this cruel disease is the only chance of changing the ending for people affected by dementia.

Please give what you can - its an investment in your future too.

Thank you.

Your donation to Alzheimer's Research UK helps scientists and researchers find new ways to diagnose dementia, develop new treatments and find a cure for dementia.
