Story
Cancer is shocking, overwhelming, isolating … and completely unfair.
In 2022, I was diagnosed with Burkitt's Lymphoma, a very fast-growing form of cancer. It was straight from A&E to Guy's Hospital and a quick start to 4 rounds of chemotherapy.
It was really tough, but I was lucky. In about 6 months, the cancer had gone and I was discharged. I'm still cancer-free.
But not everyone else is so lucky.
Especially when you’re young. It takes over your life. Treatment is gruelling and your ambitions and dreams suddenly seem very far away.
That’s why Young Lives vs Cancer fights tirelessly to stop cancer destroying young lives. They provide grants and free accommodation close to hospital to help with spiralling costs. Their care teams are on hand to help families with everything from getting benefits to treatment closer to home. And they lobby the government to make sure they get the support they’re entitled to. They're here to make sure young cancer patients can focus on getting their lives back on track.
