Having lost a number of family members to cancer I’m acutely aware of the amazing support that Macmillan gives to those diagnosed with cancer and to their family and friends.

I’m taking part in this fundraiser in memory of my cousin Gerard who was taken by cancer far too early but in a very real sense also in memory of other family members. The reason for me dedicating it to Gerard is that 18th October 2024 would have been his 70th birthday and 31st October marks the anniversary of his death in 2007 so the timing seems apt.
