Embark on the journey of a lifetime, whilst supporting a great charity. Fundraise for St Michael’s Hospice (Hereford) by taking on the ultimate challenge: climbing the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa.

Story

I will be attempting to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in October 2025 to raise money for St Michaels Hospice in Hereford. Kilimanjaro is the highest peak in Africa at 5895m (19,340 ft) and whilst not technically difficult over 40% of attempts fail each year.

Over my lifetime I have had a number of friends and relatives who have been helped by the care and support provided by the hospice network across the UK. In recent years Helen and I have become involved in raising money for St Michaels and have been moved by the care given to people with life-limiting illnesses and the support given to families facing unimaginable heartache.

I will be 63 when I attempt this climb and whilst it will be an enjoyable and rewarding personal challenge, all monies raised will go to St Michaels.

By supporting my attempt to climb Kilimanjaro you send a powerful message that you care about people and the society we live in and help to finance the wonderful work done by St Michaels.
