Story
Dear Friends and Supporters,
This year marks a momentous occasion as we celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), a beacon of hope and bravery on our shores. To commemorate this milestone, I am embarking on a cycling challenge that mirrors the spirit of endurance and commitment embodied by the RNLI.
On Saturday, I will ride 200 miles around the scenic Betteshanger Country Park Cycle track, a journey that not only celebrates the past but also pedals towards a safer future on the water. This event, organized by the RNLI fundraising department, is more than just a test of stamina; it’s a tribute to the countless lives saved by the RNLI’s valiant efforts.
My credentials for this challenge are rooted in my passion for cycling and my previous accomplishments. I have twice completed a 100-mile circuit around this very track and have conquered a 130-mile ride in a single day. These experiences have paved the way for what I consider the next logical step in my cycling journey—a fantastic challenge devoid of traffic and hills, focusing solely on the push of the pedal and the cause that propels it.
I invite you to be part of this celebration, either by joining me on the trackside at some point, or by supporting the RNLI’s lifesaving mission through donations through JustGiving. Every mile I cover and every pound we raise will help power the RNLI into its third century of service.
Let’s come together to honor the courage of the past and fuel the bravery of the future. Are you with me?
Warm regards, Dave!
