We support projects and facilitate research to promote mental health

Story

Thanks for visiting my fund raising page for the Beer-Harris Memorial Trust.

The Trust makes grants either to community based projects or to research projects that are for the benefit of people experiencing mental health issues. There is an emphasis (but not exclusive) on patients suffering from severe mental illness.

l came across the Trust through my wonderful daughter in-law, Esther, married to our Aidan (Just October last year). Esther's family established the trust in memory of her Father after he died in 2013. The Trust's name was later broadened to include her cousin, one of the Trust’s main fundraisers until his tragic death in November 2017.

I thought I had retired from triathlon events until Aidan decided it would be a good idea to have a go at the Olympic distance triathlon. I didn't want to miss out on the opportunity to join him on the event, so pulled out my old Tri Suit. He's now back concentrating on his football, but I've carried on with Triathlon. This will be my first half ironman distance, following in the foot steps of Esther, who completed this event last year.
