Story
This September marks the 25th anniversary of the death of my first born son Nicholas at the age of 10 and so to mark and remember this time I intend, at the age of 63 and not in the full flush of fitness, to cycle from London to Brighton in aid of the Charity Child Bereavement UK. Child Bereavement UK help children and young people (up to age 25), parents, and families, to rebuild their lives when a child grieves or when a child dies. Child Bereavement UK also provide training to professionals, equipping them to provide the best possible care to bereaved families. When Nick died it had a profound impact on our whole family - I have two other sons - and at that time there was little or no help available to us, a gap that this charity seeks to plug. It is also almost four years since my wife Sue, Nick's mother, died suddenly and so this event is also to mark her passing in the knowledge that she would have been a very keen supporter of this wonderfull charity.
