Story
I am participating in the Cape Wrath Ultramarathon on the 19th May. The event is over 8 days and covers 400km through Scotlands remote wilderness from Fort William to Cape Wrath. I would like to use this opportunity to raise awareness and funding for the life saving venture, the Thunderbird Project, which the late John Bullough MBE had launched after his successful campaign, the Scottish Charitable Air Ambulance (SCAA).
The Charity's mission is to ‘expedite the utilisation of autonomous aerial systems, to support and enhance our nation’s Emergency Services when there is an imminent threat to life’. This involves the deployment of two drone concepts: one to gather aerial surveillance in an emergency, and the other to deliver life-saving equipment or medicine faster than existing services can.
This is my first ever attempt at a marathon, perhaps going in at the deep end as this event has an average daily mileage of 50km of mountainous trail per day and a total elevation gain of over 11,000m.
Please help me in supporting this worthy cause.
