Story
Kubus staff have chosen to support Young Gloucestershire (YG) so I along with a group of my colleagues will each be cycling 100 miles, on the 12th October 2024, in a single day around the Cotswolds in aid of this fantastic charity.
Starting in the sleepy village of Kemble, everyone loves a 05:00 a.m. start, we’ll make our way through stunning scenery including outstanding vistas from some of the popular viewpoints throughout the Cotswolds onto Dursley, Stroud, a loop around Cheltenham before the final stretch onto Cirencester and back to Kemble.
This will involve 10 hrs + of relentless pedalling to see us cover a multitude of terrains, from hardpacked single track, shifting gravel, rutted tracks and roads, all whilst fitting in a staggering total climb of over 10,000 ft across the entire route with some punishing hill climbs.
As if this wasn’t enough of a challenge we will be completing this in October so can expect late dawn, early dusk and all the wind, rain, freezing fog, frost and blinding sun that an English October can throw at us.
A monumental challenge that we’re tackling one rotation at a time…
YG gives young people from across Gloucestershire, the confidence, motivation and skills to succeed.
The world can throw a lot at young people; they may have lots of choices and responsibilities which can leave them feeling confused and overwhelmed. No matter what their situation is, YG provides opportunities and support to help young people achieve their goals.
