Alder Hey Children's Charity takes on the Great Wall of China trek in September 2025.

Story

Alder Hey Children's hospital treats in excess of 450,000 children annually and following my retirement I want to do my bit in ensuring that they are able to continue their great work by raising as much funds as possible.

Therefore I have decided to take on the Alder Hey Children's Charity Great Wall of China Trek in 2025. This involves trekking over 5 days, covering some 35 kilometers of this iconic Wonder of the World, crossing ancient watchtowers and battlement stations that are well of the tourist trail to witness magnificent panoramas of luscious, rolling green hills as far as the eye can see.

This will be an extremely challenging endeavour for me and the group, due to the sheer number of steps we will be trekking up and down each day, including a 1,000 step climb up to the wall at Mutianyu that culminates with the ascent of the Heavenly ladder.

Please support me through this challenge, and help me raise the money Alder Hey needs to continue to do its great work.
