I am delighted to have the opportunity to run the 2024 New York Marathon in support of the National Autistic Society!

My son has complex medical and developmental needs and has enjoyed great benefit, over the years, from the support and initiatives provided by the National Autistic Society.

There are a dwindling number of organisations that support initiatives and events to help people with these challenges. This is why I am so keen to support and fundraise for an organisation that continues to do so much for people who are often marginalised and overlooked in our society.

A little bit about me:

I have never ran a full marathon before!

Like many of us, I used to run a lot - and quite far - but that was (way) back in school. I fell out of favour with running for a long time. But a few years ago, I dusted off my Asics and got back to it. The distances kept creeping up and before I knew it, I had a couple of half-marathons under my belt.

I thought that if I was going to go ahead and run a full marathon next - then I wanted to make it count.

Anyone who knows me knows that I will take this fund-raising and running challenge (very) seriously! So - I will be training hard for this - and will be sharing my runs on Strava shortly...
