Bail me out! I've been locked up for Maggie's, 25 October 2024
Our criminals have been sent down to contemplate their crimes while raising funds to pay their bail and get out of jail. They are counting on your support. Their freedom and reputation depend on it!

Story

I am delighted to take part in Jail or Bail.

Maggies is a wonderful charity, providing support, when you or someone you care about has cancer.

Cancer will affect every family in Scotland at one time or another, and with resources ever-constrained, I’m proud to take part.

As for Jail or Bail, as a corporate lawyer, my career has kept me far away from the justice system, the courts and prison.

I am sure there will be legions of friends, contacts and clients absolutely tickled at the prospect of seeing me behind bars, and I am delighted to oblige them for a good cause.

Maggie's has approached local business leaders and entrepreneurs and ask if they would be prepared to be locked up for Maggie's. To our delight they agreed, and here we are today. Our courageous jail birds have been charged with outrageous fictitious crimes and are now in cuffs and behind bars!

Bail for each has been set at £1,000 and now the criminals have been sent down to contemplate their crimes and go about raising funds to pay their bail.

Having traded in their freedom for Maggie's the challenge they face is to muster all their powers of persuasion and call on the collective goodwill of their networks to raise funds for Maggie's Cancer Centres. Their freedom & their reputation depend on it!

Jail or bail is sure to be fun for everyone involved, but let's not forget the important reason behind the event: to raise funds to support people with cancer.

Thank you
