GSK employees participating in TCS London Marathon supporting Save the Children

Story

Since running my first marathon last year, I've been searching for my next challenge and I couldn't turn down the opportunity to run the London Marathon in support of Save The Children! GSK is a Corporate Sponsor of Save the Children and I'm thrilled that I've been selected to fundraise for this incredible charity. Save The Children do an phenomenal job providing aid, food and education to kids in the UK and worldwide in some very difficult circumstances. To highlight the effort the aid workers put in challenging environments, I wanted to not only run the London Marathon but I wanted to push myself to raise as much as I can.

The training this time around has been more difficult compared to the first time! I’ve been battling a hamstring injury that rendered me unable to run (and sometimes walk) for just over a month! As I regained my ability run longer distances over March, I had to battle with the doubt and negativity that came with the lack of training. Not only was I questioning my fitness but my resilience as wel and whether I would have the mental power to do both my challenges! I would be lying to you all if I said I didn’t think about quitting or deferring my place at the London Marathon this year hence why you haven’t heard from me in over 3 months!

Therefore, I'm going to postpone the Ultra to focus solely on the London Marathon!

If you'd like to support me on my Marathon Run, please sponsor me! Anything raised here will be matched by GSK.

10p per mile - £2.60

20p per mile - £3.20

50p per mile - £13.00

£1 per mile - £26.00

£2 per mile - £52.00

I'm also looking for others to join me on legs of the 30 mile run so if you'd like to join me please reach out and I'll show you where I'll be and at what time!
