Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving Page.

A little boy I know, Felix, has been suffering with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), a serious condition that causes progressive muscular weakness.

DMD is a devastating muscle-wasting disease. It is the most common and severe form of muscular dystrophy. Diagnosed in childhood, it mainly affects boys. Started by families affected by the disease, Duchenne UK is the leading DMD charity in the UK: connecting the best researchers with industry, the NHS and families to advance and accelerate every stage of drug development.

To help raise money for this fantastic charity I am taking part in the Cape Town Cycle Tour 2024, 8 years on from my first entry in 2016!

The Cape Town Cycle Tour is owned and staged by the Cape Town Cycle Tour Trust and is the largest timed cycling event in the world.

On Sunday 10th March over 35,000 cyclists will line up to ride the 109km route through some of the worlds most spectacular scenery that includes the iconic Table Mountain as a backdrop.

I would very much appreciate any charitable donation you can offer, wish me luck!

Thank you

Dave

As the leading Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) charity in the UK, we want to find effective treatments for DMD and end its devastating impact. We’re going further than anyone has before, and we’re doing it faster, because this generation of people living with DMD can’t wait.
