Story

Wow, thanks everyone for the support. Your donations have tripled my target. I think it's going to be a while before my feet recover. During the event..... 53 miles covered 106,000 steps 10,800 calories burned 15 hours in total 10:12 quickest mile Over and out....and thanks again for all your support and kind words. ❤️

-------------------------------

This June (28th) I will be taking on my biggest ever challenge trying to complete 50 miles in one day. Ever since organising the 50 mile Big Walk in 2017, it has been a goal of mine to achieve this distance.

As part of the Big Walk 2024, I will be completing 20 miles before the start of the official event then joining the 30 mile leg of the Big Walk.

I've been actively fundraising for MND research for many years. Through my fundraising career, I have met some incredible people who have gone above and beyond to fight against this awful disease. People like Gemma Middleton. Gemma was a shining star in her fight against MND and she believed in the work happening in Sheffield. So much so she raised an incredible amount to support our MND research.

The tremendous research team at the University pour their hearts and minds into trying to help find treatments and therapies. They now need your support to help them in their push for a breakthrough.

MND is a terminal condition. It affects the brain and nerves and is nearly always fatal. There is currently no cure. It is commonly regarded as a rare condition. But this isn't true. 1 in every 300 people, across all UK communities, will develop MND in their lifetime. MND kills six people in the UK every day, with a third of those diagnosed losing their lives within just a year. Tragically, people die from this devastating disease because there are currently no treatments that can stop it. Your support can make a much needed breakthrough in MND come sooner. And improve the lives of patients long into the future.
