Watching my mum's decline with dementia in the years preceding her death in 2020, I was at a loss at what to do. I was grieving losing each little part of her and wasn't able to see the things that were still there. Together Dementia Support (TDS) were able to engage with her in a way that I couldn't. She came to life during music and art sessions, making new friends and engaging in activities. This also provided my dad with invaluable respite from his caring responsibilities.

I will be forever grateful to all the staff and volunteers at TDS for helping my mum live with dementia in a way that I couldn't. I am running this marathon so that they can help other families like mine.

TDS are here to help people to live positively with Dementia in Manchester and Trafford. There are an estimated 5,000 people in Manchester currently living with Dementia. We support people to live actively, socially and positively, with support for both people living with Dementia and their loved ones.

Since being established in 2014, TDS has supported over 1,000 people living with Dementia and their loved ones.
