Story
This is one of my favourite charities. Growing up being aware of domestic violence in many families made me want to step up and do more. Having done the previous "Hope in High Heels" events put on by Halton Women's Place and bringing my son out to participate while he was growing up has left an impact that hopefully raises his awareness between what is right and what is wrong. Coaching hockey and wearing purple shirts to raise awareness also contributed to making young men aware. Carm and the people at HWP have done a great job in our community to do more for others.
Hope in Every Step is a walk to end violence against women, taking place on November 2nd in Burlington during Women Abuse Prevention Month. Support those walking to raise funds for Halton Women's Place, the only women’s shelter in Halton.
Your pledge isn’t just a donation—it’s a powerful statement of solidarity with survivors of domestic violence. Every dollar raised goes directly to Halton Women's Place, providing crucial resources for women and children fleeing violence.
While the walk is a symbolic act of unity, your support is what truly drives change. By pledging to a participant or team, you play a vital role in the fight to end domestic violence. Let your generosity empower survivors and create a safer, more supportive community.
Together, we can make a lasting impact. Whether you’re walking or pledging, you’re part of a movement striving for a future free from violence. Come and join us. I look forward to seeing as many of my fellow workers and friends do this walk and help raise awareness and much needed funds. Any help is appreciated. I know there are tons of great charities out there. This is one of my favourites.
Please don't let Kinder raise more money than I do.
