Story

In 2012 we lost Nicola, alongside her colleague Fiona in a brutal gun & grenade attack while on duty as a Police Officer.

Since 2014 we have continued to offer support to children that have suffered the loss of a parent due to violent crime.

If Nicola and Fiona had survived the attack then the Police Treatment Centre would have provided much needed treatment & rehabilitation.

In support of the great work this charity does, and in memory of Nicola and Fiona I am taking on the challenge of running the New York Marathon in November 2024. If you know me you will be aware i have been doing park runs and the occasional 10k, but this challenge at 26.2miles (or 42.2K) will test me to my limits, all for a good cause.

0ne week to go and my training has turned a corner and I feel in a better place. In total, with one more training run to do, I have done 84 training runs varying from 5k to full marathon distance; it has been a real slog and very tough but i have given myself the best chance of finishing - just hope everything else is on my side between now and next Sunday!
